Wow deja-vu, I too had an Asus A7N8X deluxe do the same thing. The atx power switch had to be turned around reversing the ground and hot side..........

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the quick response. I replaced the case friday night and now it works fine. Smile

Hmmm- try removing the CPU and see if then the power supply fan spins. If not then it might well be a bad motherboard. This must be frustrating- I know cuz I had similar experiences (e.g. no video) when I built my first systems many years ago. Nowadays I think it's not worth the hassle and frustrations, but it's a nice learning experience.

Hey David,

Thanks for the quick reply! I came home for lunch and put in a different power supply wo success. the cpu fan does not come on the power supply fan does not come on. One of the two case fans will come on for 12 second the go off. There is a green light on the systemboard (Asus CUSL2) There is nothing attached, no cables, memory, nothing. Confused

This sounds like a bad power supply, but it could be other things too. Try disconnecting and unplugging everything (including the memory) leaving only the power connection to the motherboard and see if it makes any difference. BTW does the CPU fan spin?

Hi,

I'm trying to build a second computer for myself. i got a new case and installed the system board, processor and memory. When I turn it on to test it nothing happens. There is a green light on the system board but nothing turns on not even the fan on the power supply. Could the case have a bad switch? What should I look for.

Thanks. Sad
