If the problem is not the bios going to the CD drive before booting, you might want to reburn the CD, maybe there is a problem with the Burn?

Rasputinj
Backing a backup copy of XP
CoolComputing Forum » Microsoft/Windows Software QuestionsI'm pretty sure the CD is bootable, but rather it's the computers themselves that need to have the CD-ROM has the #1 boot device (usually the hard drive is the #1 device). To do this you have to go into the BIOS of the computer(s) and set CD-ROM as the first boot device. Then save the settings and restart the computer and when it finds a bootable CD usually it'll ask something like: "Press any key to boot from CD....". You just press any key and it should start booting from the CD.
I work at a non profit organization and therefore qualified for buying software at
special rates. I bought windows XP Professional with 10 licenses. It came with one
cd and 10 hard copy licenses. I made a backup copy of the CD in case anything happens to
the original. I tried the copy and found out it was not a bootable CD. When talking
with a friend they said you have to due something special to make it bootable, but
didn't know what. I would appreciate any help. ![]()
