How to password protect in win98se

CoolComputing Forum » Microsoft/Windows Software Questions

Well if you're just protecting certain files you can try zippling them up and then password-protect the zip file. Also if you're protecting documents from Word and Excel you can save them with passwords. But it sounds like you want to protect all the files- check out this link here- it may have something for you:

Hello all!

I was wondering what program I need to buy to password protect all files in a computer using windows 98se. Microsoft explains that it is not possible using windows 98se itself, that you have to purchase a seperate program for that. I know windows xp has the capability and for now on the computer I am working with, upgrading to win xp is really not a good option unless cost is about the same for win xp and the other program. Thanks for any help. 8)
