Booting up

CoolComputing Forum » Hardware Questions

There are no other problems, the pc boots up fand runs fine. I think you are both right and i'll update the bios again.

You may have to get an update for your BIOS.

You should be able to flash your bios but check with your support site for any patches

or updated bios Shocked

Hmmm- I have a feeling that's probably the BIOS, but it doesn't have an adverse effect on your system, right? BTW if you see 2 CPU's on the performance tab of the Task Manager then you know Hyperthreading is working.

I update the bios on my Asus p4c800-Delux motherboard because I installed a new p4 3Ghz with HT. After the bios was updated and the processor installed when the pc boots up the WinXP splash screen pops up twice, it never did before. Is this because of the bios update or the new processor?
