I am having a problem that goes something like this: About 1 out of 5 times when I try to open a folder or program an error comes up saying it had to close. The details are as so:

After sending the error report everything on the screen disappears(blinks) for a second except the desktop wallpaper. I am a beginner with computers and I don't know what to do. Sound familiar at all? Please help if you can!
