The order of the four pairs for Cat 5 is Blue, Orange, Green and Brown.

The wire which is predominantely white is referred to as the TIP wire,

and the colored wire is RING. I would recommend you purchase 110 style

punch-down patch panels and 110 style outlets for use at the

workstation. Almost all the ones sold are already color coded as to

which wire goes to which pin. When you look at the back of the patch

panel, you will see that the spacers are color coded. The white or TIP

wire goes to the left of the spacer.

Hope this helps!

Hello Again,

Could someone help me with cat 5 wiring.

What color order do you use when punching down a cat 5 cable on a patch panel? When I punch down a cat 5 cable on a jack I use

blueorangegreenbrown with the white one first. is it the same order on a patch panel?

Thanks.
