Dual Monitors

I have been running two monitors for some time now. One using dvi and the second on vga. If you are usinf sli and two cards then that only allows the use of one monitor. Nvidia 8600 w/512 ram less than $100 now and allows dx 10 for games Smile

Yeah I think going with one card with the two outputs (either dual DVI or one DVI + one VGA) would be the best solution. I'd go for the one VGA + one DVI because those cards are cheaper and they're just as good. You can usually find those cards for $40 or less online. Maybe you can even sell your other cards once you get the new one.

I am working with a Asus A7V8X-X and want to set it up to work with two monitors. I installed two ATI 128 16mb rage pro PCI cards and had no luck. Only one monitor at a time would work. When I tried to enable the second monitor the computer wigged out. Running XP Pro SP2. Then I tried a old Matrox G400 AGP card and no luck as well. Asus says to use a 1.5 Volt card. The G400 has two slots for dual voltage. I tried all three of my old G400 cards with no luck. I am wondering if I buy a new AGP card 8X with a VGA and DVI outputs, would it work with two VGA monitors using a VGA adapter for the DVI. Currently the band has two VGA monitors and someday will upgrade to LCD's. Maybe a card with two DVI outputs with two adapters would be better. Maybe I am just thinking out loud. What would you do? Shocked
