Also you can run the built-in disk checker that comes with Windows and have it check for bad blocks.

Is there a hard drive tester for toshiba laptop drives. The manufacturer does not have one available. I tried using sea-tools as it will test most drives, but it does not test the toshiba. I heard that western digital's drive utility will test other brand drives if the primary drive is a western digital. Have not tried this yet. I have a usb enclosure for the laptop drive. I was not able to get the computer to find the toshiba drive in the usb enclosure.

I guess I am looking for a one size fits all hard drive testing utility that will test all hard drives from any manufacturer.
