Windows Vista release canidate one is out and you can download from above link. I did a clean install using it and did not have any of the earlier problems with this version. There is a lot of security inprovements and you also have a built in voice recognition software that is a major improvement from earlier editions. If you want a StarTrek pc, try it free........

The release date for Vista is early 2007 and this has been pushed back several times. Here is a link to see if your pc can run Vista and a free download is also available (9 hours on broadband) and is available on dvd (what I used to upgrade from xp pro). Use a pc that is not your primary pc and see requirements prior to install. GOODLUCK

I haven't tried it yet- but I'm sure that Microsoft will work out a lot of those kinks. It's also up to the hardware manufacturers I guess to optimize their drivers. I think MS is still like 6 months away from releasing Vista?

Is anyone else using the beta 2 of WINDOWS VISTA? If so what are your thoughts? My experience is a major performance loss and limited drivers for existing hardware. Defrag no longer shows data or time left to go. Plus side is new media player, new security, cpu usage, memory usage, and many more tweaks..... Very Happy
