Following yesterday's news regarding the availability of the dual-band 450Mbps TEW-692GR, Trendnet today launched the Trendnet TEW-680MB 450 MBps bridge as a perfect compliment. Sporting a slick, black chasis with curved edges, the new TEW-680MB also can do 450 MBps on both 5 and 2.4 GHz frequencies. Unfortunately it probably only also comes with a single ethernet port (like its predecessor the TEW-687GA) . It would be nice to have at least a pair of lan ports or even 3 or more to connect the various devices one's modern living/media room setup such as internet-enabled HDTVs, bluray players, XBox 360/PS3, etc. What you can do in this case is buy a 5 or even an 8 port switch to increase the number of ports that can be served by the Trendnet TEW-680MB. Slated for sale in the 4th quarter, the Trendnet TEW-680MB has a suggested price of $170.
